About Our Strapping Company

Patriot Textiles, Inc is Made in America. From our new factory in Pawtucket, RI, we serve the East coast of the United States with top quality strapping products from Lumber Strap to various straps made for our military. Our team has decades of experience in producing quality strapping products for use in a variety of industries. 


About our Founder/President:


Wesley Grela immigrated to America as a teenager from Communist Poland with his Family in 1978. With an aptitude for mechanics, Wesley went to work in the textile industry learning all he could about the looms that he would someday come to own.

With 41 years of experience in the industry, Wesley has become a master weaver experienced in both Wide and Narrow web fabrics. His company, Patriot Textiles, Inc is focused on producing the highest quality strapping products in the industry. 

Become a Distributor
Patriot Textiles, Inc is committed to the highest standards of excellence in business practices and the design, manufacture, sale and installation of quality consumer products. In pursuit of these goals, Patriot Textiles, Inc will provide to its Authorized Distributors the following:

1. Documentation, training classes, field assistance, and telephone support
2. Local sales, marketing, and design assistance
3. Help in developing sales and promotional materials
4. Support for local trade shows on a best effort basis

We ask the following of our Distributors:
  1. Use their best efforts to sell and support Patriot Strapping's products (Minimum purchases of $25,000 annually)
  2. Conduct all business associated with Patriot Strapping in a manner which will in no way harm its market presence or reputation
  3. Furnish, to the best of the Distributor's ability, quarterly forecasts of future sales of Patriot Strapping products
  4. Protect and hold as confidential all Patriot Strapping intellectual property and trade secrets
  5. Pay accounts in a timely manner in accordance with the specified terms
  6. Specify Patriot Strapping products in every quote possible
  7. Insure use of all Patriot Strapping products are in accordance with specifications and to the highest degree of industry standards
  8. Provide warrant support
  9. ​Form a strong working relationship with Patriot Strapping to build both company's businesses

  • How do I choose the right strap for my application?

    It depends, on a ton of components. Nonetheless, some broad rules are: 


    Steel strap is generally saved for hefty burdens, more prominent than 5,000 lbs., for tying high-temperature loads, where plastic would liquefy, for loads with sharp edges, and for some round objects. 


    Polypropylene is utilized for lighter burdens, bunches of packaging (think papers), and container shutting. 


    Polyester is utilized for heavier loads, tight non-compressible burdens, similar to blocks, and as a swap for steel. 


    Rope strapping is utilized in rural applications and as a manual method to unitize some weighty burdens.

  • How do I tension and seal strap?

    Steel is normally applied with hand devices, either a tensioner and sealer or a mixed "sealless" device, either manual or pneumatic. 


    Polypropylene is applied with clasps, which don't need devices, with different hand devices, either manual or controlled, or by a machine. 


    Polyester is applied with hand instruments, either manual or fueled or with a programmed tying machine. 


    Line strapping is fixed with a wire clasp. The line can be tensioned either by hand or with a manual tensioner. 


  • Does polyester work better than steel?

    Polyester functions as a very heavy-duty rubber band, withstanding high tension and impact. Polyester is stretched through application and in many forms, is better than steel because of the ability to stretch and keep its durability.
